Description

About the Client:
ASA have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager to join our team and work with a local church café in AB15 area of Aberdeen. The café serves the local community with Christian ethos at the heart of what they do.

Your Opportunity:
This position would see you working 3 days, including one day for prep and planning when the café is not open, covering 21 hours per week. You will be making and serving lunch items including soups, sandwiches and paninis as well as hot drinks and cakes. This role gives you the chance to use your own ideas and take ownership of the progression of the café. Pay rate for this position is negotiable for the right candidate depending on experience but ranges from £12 per hour.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is committed to the work they do and is motivated to achieve the very best. You will be capable of the chef and management responsibilities with strong communication skills to lead the rest of the team.

Responsibilities Include:
· Full responsibility of day to day operations of the café and managing the team leaders and café volunteers.
· Develop, cook and deliver items forming a varied, healthy and nutritious menu.
· Consistently offering high levels of customer service throughout the whole café.
· Ensuring all areas of the premises are clean and meet health and safety requirements.
· Maintaining safe working practices and procedures at all times.
· Organising and managing the purchasing of café supplies from local suppliers/supermarkets using fair-trade products where possible.
· Retaining receipts for all items of expenditure, and be responsible for daily record sheets for card payments, cash, tips and book monies.
· Working with the organisation management to monitor and report performance.

What We Offer:
· Great opportunity for chef work that is part time and avoids those typical unsociable hours.
· Potential for the position to become permanent.
· Consultants available for support right through the recruitment process including evenings and weekends.
· Additional Holiday Pay.
· Excellent refer a friend incentive.

Requirements:
You must have previous experience managing catering establishments and have the drive and imagination to expand the café to greater ventures. You must be comfortable in both sides of the position, in the kitchen and the managerial aspect.
