Are you an Accountant looking for your next role in the Public Sector?

ASA Recruitment are working Scotland’s largest public sector client to find an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. This role is suitable for candidates based in Scotland’s Central Belt.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Produce timely and accurate financial information, for use in management reporting, consolidation and external publications including annual reports and accounts
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and financial regulations, including the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM), client specific regulations and general accounting standards
• Support robust financial reporting by managing financial reporting timetables, ensuring accurate financial information, performing adequate analytical procedures
• Play a key role in the delivery of the annual report and accounts 2021-22 and managing accounting staff with appropriate delegation of duties

So, what are we looking for?

• You will be a professionally qualified Accountant with membership of a recognised CCAB body, i.e. ACCA, ICAS, CIMA undertaking all accounts tasks to a highly compliant standard
• Experience of financial accounting with a good knowledge of accounting standards
• Strong IT and communication skills
• Previous management experience would be advantageous
• This role will require Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance so current proof of clearance would be highly advantageous
