Are you an experienced Accountant looking to try out the Public Sector?

ASA Recruitment are working with a large council client to source an experienced and highly capable Accountant to cover a maternity period. This role is suitable for candidates based anywhere in Scotland.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Slot in to the existing finance structure, using your accounts knowledge to support the Finance Partner and the strategic objectives of the council
• Oversee various aspects of council finances which may include payroll, expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, cash and banking
• Assist in ensuring adherence to financial policy and strategy in line with corporate objectives

So, what are we looking for?

• You will be a professionally qualified Accountant with membership of a recognised CCAB body, i.e. ACCA, ICAS undertaking all accounts tasks to a highly compliant standard
• Experience of budget setting, monitoring and control
• Experience of final accounts preparation
• Experience of using financial systems, ideally Unit4
