Are you an experienced Internal Auditor looking for a new challenge in the Public Sector?

ASA Recruitment are working with University of the West of Scotland to source an experienced and highly capable Senior Internal Auditor, this role is suitable for candidates within travelling distance to the Paisley campus on a hybrid model.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Plan and conduct work for each audit review, in accordance with the standards and methodology adopted by the Service, responsible for scheduling multiple engagements to be run at any one time each at different stages of the audit cycle
• Coordinate the delivery and integration of contributions to audits from other staff (specialists, secondees etc.)
• Propose opinions and recommendations for improvement based on structured analysis and judgements utilising evidence gathered in the course of audit engagements
• Prioritise personal workload to meet deadlines imposed by the annual programme, the schedule of UWS committee meetings and peak workloads in Schools and Departments in which audit work is to be performed

So, what are we looking for?

• You will be a professionally qualified Internal Auditor with membership of a recognised body, i.e. CIIA, CCAB, undertaking audits in accordance with the UK Public Sector Internal Audit Standards
• Demonstrate progressively complex experience within an internal audit department
• Experience of leading audit reviews within a complex organisation
• Experience of project management and project reviews
• Demonstrable track record of adding value through advising on the design, implementation and operation of controls in a changing environment
• Awareness of fraud and IT risk management issues and common approaches to the management and control of those issues
