ASA Recruitment is Scotland’s largest independent recruitment organisation and a leading provider of quality people. We are currently working with our portfolio of clients in Aberdeenshire to recruit PVG Cooks to work in Laurencekirk.

We are looking to register Cooks with a PVG certificate to assist with the needs of our client for a Care Home in Laurencekirk. The opportunities available cover various working hours as well as week days and weekends. The site is conveniently located within walking distance from Laurencekirk train station as well as bus links to Stonehaven and Aberdeen.

As a Cook, no two days are the same, some duties that are involved in the role may include:
· Preparing, cooking and serving of meals in a safe, hygienic and efficient manner
· Following of defined recipes and dietary requirements
· Awareness of associated risks within a kitchen environment
· Having high standards of hygiene awareness
· Using only approved equipment, materials, PPE
· Monitoring and recording of kitchen temperatures
· Responsibility for labelling fridge / freezer items
· Monitoring portion control and minimising wastage

The ideal candidate for this position with ASA should:
· Be confident working in a fast paced kitchen environment
· Have high levels of motivation and willing to get stuck in
· Be reliable and consistently work to a high standard
· Have a flexible work approach
· Hold Food Hygiene and Allergens certificates
· Be able to provide two references for previous work experience
