Aberdeen has recently welcomed over 30 families from Afghanistan to temporarily reside in the city centre while permanent accommodation is secured across the UK. We are recruiting for a Support Officer to work with and support the Afghan families within Aberdeen. This is a full time position, working 37 hours per week flexible between 9am and 7pm, lasting approximately 6 months. Pay rate starts from £13.67 per hour.

You will support and co-ordinate the provision of services to meet the assessed needs of families and facilitate their successful resettlement and integration. Duties within this role may include;
· Working directly with a caseload of families delivering wrap around support
· Supporting the day to day planning of the service being provided
· Regularly liaise with other services including Education, Health and DWP
· Working directly with Housing providers to arrange permanent accommodation as required
· Supporting adults in employability and securing temporary employment as appropriate
· Taking appropriate action by following established safeguarding processes if there are any child/adult well-being concerns
· Maintaining accurate case records

Requirements for Support Officer;
· Minimum SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or other discipline relevant to resettlement work
· PVG Membership
· Experience in a similar role; Key Worker/ Housing/ Homelessness
· Flexible and able to work dynamically
· Ability to build strong professional relationships
· Comfortable with team working and supporting colleagues but also working independently
· Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic about making a difference
