Corporate Accountant

ASA Recruitment’s public sector client is looking to recruit a Qualified Corporate Accountant for an initial 6 Month contract, working remotely.

The postholder will be responsible for the Treasury Management functions of the organisation including, managing the daily cash flow, advising on investment and borrowing requirements, affordability and providing Treasury Management information and updates. You will also have a key role in the annual accounts process and be responsible for the completion of statutory returns.

Requirements:
· Manage the cash flow, advising on investment and borrowing requirements in line with the Treasury Management Strategy
· Ensure bank reconciliations are completed timeously
· Liaise with the treasury management consultants and attend meetings and workshops
· Provide management information and accounting support on treasury management activities
· Monitor and keep abreast of policy, legislative and accounting developments and advise on implications as appropriate
· Take a lead role in supporting the successful delivery of the statutory financial accounts
· Co-ordinate and complete other key statutory returns e.g. LFR, WGA etc.
· Provide technical support to other members of the team
· Prepare the Annual Treasury Management Strategy and regular update reports including Performance indicators for Scrutiny
· Provide information to external and internal auditors as required
· Develop reporting requirements within the financial system for Treasury Management and annual accounts to improve processes
· Work with others, both internal and external, to provide financial information which supports service improvement and change
· Support the team to ensure VAT and other Returns are completed accurately and timeously

Requirements:
· Professional Accountancy qualification – CCAB/CIMA Qualified
· Proven Experience in a similar role within a Financial Environment
· Familiar with financial management systems
· Competent in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets
· Experience of reporting information to financial and non-financial managers
· Familiar with relevant Accounting Standards and legislative requirements
