Workshop Steward

Description

ASA Recruitment is working alongside our public sector client to find an experienced Workshop Steward to work on an ongoing, temporary basis.

Duties:

• To provide a quality service to all staff using the workshop.
• Safe storage of tools and safety equipment in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation.
• Ensure that all resources and equipment are returned at the end of each shift.
• Checking in of goods received and contact suppliers when stock is needed.
• Assist the Workshop Technician with general tasks.

Requirements:

• Experience of working in a similar role ideally within a construction or engineering setting.
• Sound knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
• Stock control experience coupled with the ability to move and store equipment within a busy workshop environment.
• A PVG check will be carried out for this position.
• Highly advantageous to hae previous experience in an education setting.
