ASA are currently recruiting for a Data Analyst for a public sector body based in Dundee following the launch of their new digital platform. The organisation are currently operating a hybrid working model with the expectation that staff attend the office 2 days per week.
Duties include:
· Determining the most effective way to create reports using data from the system
· Organising the data fields to create reports which can be used and modified by non data specialists. This will include replication of some reports which used information generated by the previous reporting system
· Working with staff and IT contractor to develop, document and launch a publicly available API (Application Programming Interface) for Register information, and further specific API’s if necessary
Essential competences, skills, experience:
· A sound knowledge of relational databases and data base structures
· At least two years experience in a data role
· Experience of accessing data and creating reports using Power BI (including Power Query, DAX, M Language)
· Experience of creating detailed reports with drill down, and of presenting data visually, e.g. using charts, reports and dashboards
· Experience of producing functional operational reports that can be used and modified by non data specialists; and of explaining technical concepts to non specialists
· Experience of understanding and documenting business requirements
Required level of security clearance/disclosure
· Basic Disclosure/BPSS
