Within 2019, it is anticipated that one in every four people will experience some form of health problem. Our client in Dundee believes that no one should battle a mental health problem in isolation. They are looking for a Qualified Social Worker with Mental Health experience and MHO accreditation who will empathise with, advocate for and support adults who are experiencing mental health struggles and undertake the rewarding role of a locum Mental Health Officer (MHO).

Social workers have a distinguished skill set and knowledge that can safeguard society’s vulnerable adults and facilitate positive outcomes for them. A hospital based Social Worker/Mental Health Officer (MHO) is required to promote the values of Social Work in their work within a dynamic hospital discharge team for adults in Dundee as a locum.

Offering a competitive Social Worker salary, the desired Social Worker/Mental Health Officer (MHO) for our client will be available full-time for a minimum of three months in Dundee where you will be working with adults who have been admitted and are due to be discharged or have been discharged from hospital and require home assessments.

As a locum Mental Health Officer (MHO) you will be required to use your great organisational skills to keep accurate records and reports whilst maintaining the service’s core values at all times. Focussing on realistic goals the team of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and other health and social care professionals will plan, facilitate and manage care plans for people with mental health problems who are being discharged from hospital in Dundee.

Undertaking risk assessments to safeguard the service users and yourself is an essential day-to-day activity for the Hospital Discharge Team so our Dundee based client is seeking a Social Worker/Mental Health Officer (MHO) with prior experience undertaking these. In addition to the successful Mental Health Officer (MHO) is required to have:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Registration with the SSSC
  • Mental Health Officer accreditation
  • Experience working in community mental health
  • Membership with the PVG scheme and the willingness to undergo an update
