Description

Are you a skilled 18th Edition electrician with a proven track record in testing? We’re on the lookout for dedicated professionals like you to join our team immediately! This is a full-time position on a long-term placement.
The post-holder will undertake maintenance and installation of electrical equipment within housing and public buildings.
Van and any testing equipment that is required will be provided.
Main duties
1. Perform repairs, maintenance, and installations in housing and public buildings.
2. Conduct testing on various systems including lighting, power circuits, L.V. systems, fire alarms, and emergency lighting, addressing faults.
3. Collaborate with other trades as needed.
4. Work independently to deliver quality service.
5. Identify necessary repairs, replacement parts, and fixtures accurately.
6. Ensure all work is conducted safely, tidily, and in compliance with standards.
7. Maintain high-quality work meeting Council and Industry standards.
8. Meet departmental completion targets to sustain productivity.
9. Record work for administrative and payroll purposes, utilising appropriate documentation.
10. Submit reports and documentation promptly as required by the department.
11. Adhere to Council procedures consistently.
12. Undertake multi-trade work and identify training needs.
13. Prioritise customer care.
14. Comply with the Council’s commitment to Health and Safety.
15. Support the Council’s efforts to maximise employee attendance.
16. Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations and risk management.
17. Keep tools, plant, and transport in good working order.
18. Verify the safety of Council equipment before use.
19. Utilise technology such as Servitor and hand held computers where necessary.
20. Be available for out-of-hours work and Council emergency call outs.
21. Provide training and supervision to apprentices when required.
22. Undertake any additional prescribed duties.
23. Perform daily van checks and driving duties.
Requirements
1. Post-holders must be time served with appropriate City and Guilds Certificate or recognised equivalent. They must have full working knowledge of 18th Edition of IET Regulations.
2. Clean Driving Licence
3. Good Customer Care skills to deal with Council’s customers in their home environment.
4. Good, sound knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and the ability to carry out these procedures during work.
