Night Porter

Description

We are currently recruiting for a Night Porter for a permanent role with one of our clients – a historic and picturesque local hotel in the outskirts of Aberdeen. This hotel is also a well-established wedding and events venue and is host to 40 rooms, private dining rooms as well as an additional restaurant and bar.

In this role you will report to the Head Night Porter and ensure the general hotel environment is maintained to the highest standard while providing a high level of service to all guests. Main responsibilities of this role include;

· Carry out all required checks in communal and grounds areas during silent hours
· Ensure all emergency routes and fire exits are kept clear
· Act as the first point of contact in an emergency during the silent hours
· Collect guest room service trays and breakfast cards from outside rooms
· Ensure that any potential and real hazards are reported immediately
· Take a thorough handover from other departments and ensure that any tasks required are carried out and complete Night Porter diary and checklist

We are looking for someone who is motivated work individually with little supervision to complete all required responsibilities to a high standard. You should be proactive and able to use your own initiative to take on tasks as a contribution to the overall successful running of the venue. Knowledge and understanding of evacuation and fire safety procedures is essential along with experience in a customer facing environment. Due to the location own transport essential as the location is not serviced by public transport.
