Are you an experienced Programme Manager that can demonstrate a proven track record of success?

We are looking for a proactive individual to work on a large scale transformation project and to provide programme management support for one of our Public Sector Clients. This short-term contract opportunity is well suited to a professional with experience in project delivery, strategy formulation, quality improvement and change and stakeholder management. Ideally, you will come from a computer science or engineering background and be familiar with project management methodologies.

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading the definition, development and implementation of various projects across Scotland to the required level of quality, on time and within budget
  • Providing internal consultancy on programme management and facilitate delivery of continuous and quality improvement techniques across the organisation
  • Influence national strategies, stakeholders (Management Boards, Sponsors, User Groups, Contractors and Auditors) and modernisation initiatives
  • Supervision, management and development of members of staff

What are we looking for from a successful candidate?

  • A post graduate degree in computer science or engineering or professional project qualifications including ELMP, Six Sigma, EFQM, PRINCE 2, MSP and associated quality and process improvement techniques
  • Significant demonstrable practical experience in complex project, programme, risk, change and people management, taking account of the cultural and environmental issues that will impact on their application
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering quality improvement initiatives and effective customer-orientated services e.g. the ability to analyse and redesign business processes to make best use of the people involved and enabling this with new technology as appropriate
  • Effective leadership and conflict management skills, experience of using information for management purposes and in setting and monitoring targets and performance indicators
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures and effective financial management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience of chairing meetings, presentation skills
  • Excellent prioritising, problem solving, decision making skills and ability to deliver desired results on time

Desirable:

Ideally you will be available immediately and have previously worked in a busy project environment preferably within the Public Sector. The role includes travels around Scotland so a current UK Driving Licence would be preferable.
