Support Worker

ASA have a fantastic opportunity for Support Workers in Peterhead. This is a hugely flexible position with shifts ranging from a couple of hours to 12 hours long available 7 days. The position is based at a housing support service combined with care at home for people living in their own homes. You can expect to support individuals from young to older adults with varying learning disabilities and additional support needs.

Being a Support Worker is a great career choice for those who enjoy a varied job role and lots of interaction with others. Responsibilities each day can change depending on each individual service user. Some typical duties include;
· Providing physical support and emotional support
· Helping out with household tasks and aspects of personal care
· Encouraging development of personal skills and independence as much a possible
· Accompanying the service user into the community for days out or to appointments
· Liaising with other healthcare professionals and families of those you are supporting

You can also access all past timesheets and information about future shifts all in one place. The pay rate for this position varies from £9.90 to £11.50 depending on the day and time of the shift. Contributions to travel expenses can also be made for those willing to travel from out with the Peterhead area. We provide free classroom training to all of our candidates so that you feel valued in your professional development.

In applying for this Support Worker position you must have 6 months similar experience in the UK and should be willing to apply for a PVG certificate or an update for working with ASA if PVG already held. SSSC registration is beneficial but not essential until 6 months of employment.

Applicants must be able to work in the Peterhead area of Aberdeenshire as this is where shifts are based.
