Description

Our Public Sector client are sourcing for an Operational Support Officer – Roads based in Golspie.

The role will be for 16 weeks with possible extension.

Rate of pay for this role is £13-£15 per hour dependant on experience PAYE, plus holiday accruals.

Flexibility around days and times is available.

Although based in Golspie, the position is working from home until restrictions lift.

Duties for the role involves:

· To support the Roads Operations Manager and Roads Officers in:-
· In developing programmes of works.
· To enter onto the Scottish Road Work Register, notice of works for roads purposes, temporary road closure orders etc.
· To analyse tachographs, advise drivers of errors and report breach of rules to management.
· To monitor plant and vehicle usage to minimise downtime.
· To monitor and record hired plant usage in order to minimise length of hires.
· To act for the Roads Operations Manager and/or Roads Officers in investigating and closing out complaints about service delivery, including liaising with those making complaints, deciding on solutions and making all necessary arrangements to have complaints resolved.
· To act for the Roads Operations Manager and/or Roads Officers in investigating and closing out 3rd party insurance claims, including liaising with those making the claim, deciding on solutions and making all necessary arrangements to have claims resolved.
· Assist the Roads Officer to ensure training requirements are programmed and records are maintained.
· Assisting in the development of procedures and specifications including the updating of databases and maps to facilitate Asset Management Planning and address service wide improvements.
· To assist in ensuring that Health and Safety Procedures are followed.
· Promoting, developing and maintaining internal and external partnerships and relationships.
· Assist in the promotion of sustainable practices in the delivery of services.

The following are ideal attributes for the candidate:

· Experience of working in a roads environment.
· Experience of workforce planning.
· Experience of the Scottish Roadworks Register
· You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service

This role requires a valid driving license and the successful candidate to have a basic disclosure in place.
