Head of Maintenance

Description

ASA Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a large public funded organisation who have a requirement for a Head of Maintenance to cover a defined geographical area.
This role will require someone with extensive hard FM and technical experience who will be responsible for managing the full scope of works from day to day maintenance to refurbishments and renewals in over 40 plus premises.

Duties:
· Managing a large multi-disciplined maintenance department ensuring that all works are carried out to the proper standard and with minimal impact to the service
· Providing in depth technical advice to other departments in relation to building maintenance, engineering , grounds and equipment
· Advising on capital projects with external contractors and being part of the negotiations relating to contracts.
· Full staff responsibility including recruitment, appraisal and disciplinary procedures.
· Managing external procurement process with relation to materials and external contractors
· Full P and L responsibility for the department.

Candidate:
· Experience of managing large portfolio of premises as a head of engineering or similar role.
· Technical qualification in either engineering, construction or facilities management.
· Experience of contract negotiation and tendering process relating to building maintenance.
· Experience of managing contractors and third party organisations within a frame of works.
· Demonstrate able track record of KPI’s relating to the full management of a maintenance department including P and L responsibility.
