Description

Are you an experienced SPM (Social Programme Management) Developer looking to take on a contract opportunity within a prestigious large scale project in the public sector?

ASA are looking for an SPM Developer to join the public sector in Glasgow. This contract opportunity would be perfect for an individual comfortable executing and completing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

The SPM Developer Role:

  • Assist CDO staff (developers and data specialists) with the design and implementation of robust, open and secure SPM services within the Wave 1 and Wave 2 programs
  • Assist with the development of new SPM features and products, work alongside colleagues to ensure that new and updated services are thoroughly tested for performance & quality, are able to handle specified load, robust and can be supported & maintained over the long-term
  • Coach and mentor software developers and database administrators
  • Work with other specialist teams in CDO division (e.g. Digital Risk and Security) to deliver usable, accessible solutions that meet user needs and exceed user expectations

Successful candidates for the SPM Developer role will require:

  • Significant hands-on experience of IBM Social Programme Management (SPM) software
  • Extensive experience with SPM business analysis, design, development, architecture, integration, production support, and project leadership
  • Deep understanding of the SPM Enterprise Framework (CEF)
  • Application proficiency’s and experience in IBM WebSphere, Eclipse, Rational Software Architect, IBM DB2, Linux, CVS, Subversion, Tomcat, JIRA, Axure
  • Awareness of standard technical practices including unit testing, version control, continuous integration, coding standards, design patterns & re-factoring
  • Familiar with design work and graphics manipulation as well as realising static mock-ups in CSS and HTML with high fidelity
  • Experience of working in agile projects/programmes. In particular you must be proficient in iterative software development and understand the associated responsibilities, practices and artefacts

This is a contract position that falls inside of IR35
