Raising the Bar in Social Care Training

Social Care is a demanding and challenging industry, those who work in the sector require a great amount of resilience and dedication. At ASA we aim to give our healthcare staff the skills and experience required to excel in this environment. We invest in high quality classroom based learning, alongside hands on experience with healthcare equipment. To ensure we have the best people working with us, our staff also;

  • Have 6 months UK experience
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK
  • Have 2 references
  • Hold current PVG and SSSC
  • Complete hands on training

Our 2 highly experienced trainers teach a wide range of courses including; Moving and Handling, Medication Awareness, Challenging Behaviour, Dementia Training, Personal Hygiene, Personal Safety, Food Hygiene, Epilepsy and Adult Support Protection to name but a few.

You have probably come across courses that only consist of an online test, however at ASA we believe it is not enough to simply carry out a theory based online examination. Our staff are trained in a classroom on theory, with the bulk of the course being a hands on practical session using up to date healthcare equipment. We ensure our staff have the knowledge, skills and safe practices which are all crucial aspects to caring for vulnerable people, one of our trainer’s, Nurse Anne McNeil explains why;

‘It is more focused on specific subjects and gives the individual the opportunity to discuss any concerns they may have in the workplace relating to the role. It encourages team building, face to face interaction and ensures attendees understand the importance of compliance requirements. The practical assessment also gives us the opportunity to confirm that the attendee can perform specific tasks to an acceptable level.’

We have great trainers at ASA, but don’t take our word for it, check out some of our feedback:

‘The course was really enjoyable due to the trainer making it pleasant, fun and really explanatory.’

‘One of the best courses I have been on.’

‘Best moving and handling I ever attended (I did no less than 6 in the last 10 years).’

‘Excellent trainer, very enthusiastic, professional in delivery, appearance and materials. Enjoyed the training, was dreading it at first.’

 ‘The course is a great refresher especially if you don’t use the hoist regularly.’

A big thank you to our lovely models/ Healthcare staff.
