ASA Recruitment are currently looking for Caretakers to work in care homes for the elderly within the Glasgow area.
These are temporary Caretaker roles, scheduled to last approximately three months, however, there is potential that these will be extended for the right candidates.
You will ideally have experience working in maintenance or janitorial roles, however, candidates with appropriate skills who have worked in other sectors will be considered. You will require to carry out light repair and maintenance, as well as monitoring of faults and hazards across the residential home.
There are Caretaker placements available in various locations throughout Glasgow.
Working within a care home, you will be required to monitor and inspect the general condition of all fixtures and fittings and be responsible for the general upkeep of the unit. This will involve identifying possible hazards, before either carrying out repairs, or notifying the appropriate persons so that tradesmen may be contacted. The care home will be occupied by service users, and therefore you must be comfortable working around members of the public and be happy to engage with service users in a polite and friendly way.
As you will be working in a care home, you will be required to apply for, and undergo a full PVG check with Disclosure Scotland. All necessary forms will be provided at interview.
