Support Worker

ASA are currently working on behalf of one of our clients, a charity who provide support to adults and children facing a range of challenging circumstances. We are now recruiting for dedicated people to provide support to these service users long term and the roles that we are recruiting for are part-time and full-time basis.

ASA provide short and long term cover into a number of services for this organisation which means that you can widen your experience and work between different services until you find the right one for you. Like all people, the clients that we support vary in their preferences and needs so if you are mild mannered and do well in a calm environment then we will have a service to suit, equally, if you are outgoing and can make meaningful connections with service users considered more challenging, we have a service for you!

Our client are committed to the living wage and currently pays £8.75 an hour. Candidates who are drivers are preferred due to location and the ability to take service users out in the community in company vehicles. A job as a Support Worker is a reward one as your role would be to support clients to live in the community and assisting with everyday living such as taking them out shopping or to the cinema.

The role of a Support Worker is a varied one and duties do differ between services but core duties will include -

· Assisting with personal care, hygiene and mobility where necessary
· Making sure that the service user makes connections within their community in line their interests
· Supporting service users to clubs, jobs and outings
· Administering medication

We have a range of hours and shift patterns to suit, these include, days, weekends, sleepovers or waken nights.

Ideally you are currently working in care/support or have experience in care with the use of moving & handling and personal care. For those looking to progress, there are real career progression and learning opportunities, our client is dedicated to ongoing training and development for their staff through SVQ 3 qualifications.
