Description

We are seeking a Technical Clerk to undertake a range of technical duties to support the delivery and development of a full range of road services in East Lothian. Supporting colleagues in the management of the Scottish Road works register, you will assist in the planning and coordinating of road works in the local area. Based in East Lothian, this contract is initially for 6 months.

Main duties include:

· Support Technical staff within Road Services in the management and control of Engineering documents, release checks, file movement including the development of templates for efficiency improvement on supporting documentation
· Creation of technical documentation, Drawings (digital and paper), Work Instructions, Inspection Sheets
· Support Technical Staff in the management of geographic information systems (GIS)
· Ensure data inputting is correct and done in a timely manner
· Prepare and send out neighbour notifications and respond directly to customer queries

Essential:

· Knowledge of technical support within a Roads related/Engineering or Technical environment
· Capable of interpreting engineering drawings
· Knowledge of using production or technical database systems
· Computer literate including intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint. MS Project awareness
· Be determined to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisational skills
