Description

We have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s home division, a major subsidiary of their Group. You will be based in Stirling and report to the Commercial Manager.

You will join the team of surveyors managing commercial aspects of projects. You will control and manage costs, identify opportunities for increasing profit margins and to promote the core values of the business. You will have experience in house building and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, good project management skills and the ability to demonstrate business acumen. The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in Quantity Surveying with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tender documents for current and new developments
  • Undertaking tender analysis for current and new developments including preparing, forecasting, reporting and analysing costings for tenders
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Input at monthly Contract Performance Reviews and preparation of monthly Board Reports
  • Managing senior quantity surveyor role on all developments from contract award to final account agreement
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulation

  • IT skills e.g. proficient with Microsoft software
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Budget and financial management
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Industry knowledge and understanding

Package:

  • A clean current driving licence is essential
  • Hours of work are 9am to 5pm
  • An attractive package is on offer dependent on experience (salary scale is £47K to £55K but this is negotiable)
