Senior Developer

Description

Our client in Dundee are looking to recruit a Senior Developer on a 3 month placement with the option to extend for a further 2 months. The postholder will assist the Digital Team in the development and delivery of new applications within the business. The Digital team have adopted Agile methodology and operate using tools like Jira, YouTrack, Trello and other tools associated in helping with managing an Agile delivery. It is important the Senior Developer has IT software background including knowledge and experience of agile development methodology. This role will be part of a current development team of around 6 people with a range in skills. Due to Covid19 the postholder will be required to work from home until such time as the office reopens – a date for which is currently unknown

The typical working week will be 35 hours ( Monday to Friday ) with a rate of £325 per day ( PAYE ) along with holiday accrual

Essential skills and experience required:

* Experienced in software development ( minimum 3 years ), across the entire software development cycle, using a variety of software design patterns
* Ability to plan, execute, track and report on delivery progress against requirements
* Knowledge of Microsoft.Net framework and web development, including HTML, JavaScript and MVC
* Experienced in designing and implementing relational databases in MS SQL Server
* Competent in cloud architecture and technologies
* Experienced in continuous improvement of development, integration and delivery processes
* Experienced in Agile methodologies
* Experience of working as part of an agile software delivery team
* NET development using C# and Visual Studio
* ASP.NET development using MVC 4/5
* Web application frameworks such as AngularJS
* Web services, including creation and consumption of WCF and Web API services
* Microsoft Entity Framework, Linq and LinqToSQL
* Source Control Management systems
* Cloud technologies, such as MS Azure or AWS
* Continuous Integration and Deployment using TeamCity or similar
* Unit testing frameworks such as Visual Studio and NUnit
* Code quality tools and frameworks such as ReSharper MSBI

The postholder will require a current Standard Disclosure though consideration would be given to a candidate who currently holds a Basic Disclosure

There will be limited travel for the role and if required will likely be central belt only
