Retail Sales Assistant

Description

Our client in Aberdeen are looking to recruit an experienced Retail Sales Assistant on an initial 12 week placement with the potential to extend. The postholder will be responsible for serving customers and assisting with general sales duties in Museum and Gallery retail operations

The typical working week will include week day and weekend work with flexibility required between the hours of 10am and 5pm. The rate will be £9.47 per hour PAYE plus holiday accrual

The postholder will be expected to:

* Provide an excellent customer care and retail experience
* Manage cash and retail stock
* Respond to customer enquires
* Carry out duties to keep the shop clean and well presented

Experience required:

* Dealing with the public in the customer service or retail sector with a demonstrable commitment to high standards of customer care
* Cash handling

The postholder will be expected to demonstrate the following attributes:

* Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
* Ability to do work that is physically demanding
* Ability to effectively use communication and numeracy skill to achieve excellent standards

The role will require regular weekend work along with varied weekly hours as part of a rota system

The post holder must have undertaken or be committed to undertaking the following within a specified period:

* OIL module ‘For Your Eyes Only’
* OIL module ‘Protecting Children’
