Are you an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer and looking to take on a contract opportunity within a prestigious large scale project in the public sector?

ASA are looking for an Abode Experience Manager Quality Assurance Engineer to join the public sector in Glasgow. This contract opportunity would be perfect for an individual comfortable executing and completing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

The QA Engineer Role:

  • Working as a tester within an agile development environment, participating in the usual agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, 3 amigos, Retrospectives)
  • Creation and maintenance of manual test cases to verify the User Story acceptance criteria
  • Creation and maintenance of automated tests cases and test suites to enable rapid retesting and regression testing of the solution
  • Creation and maintenance of Integration test cases to prove the inter-operation of the solution with other system components (these will be a mix of automated and manual test cases)
  • Test execution and recording of tests within the test management tool for trace-ability
  • All of the above to cover testing of functional and non-functional requirements
  • All of the above are to be delivered within the Sprint cycles, which will operate on a two-week cycle up to and beyond the go live date

Successful candidates for the QA Engineer will require:

  • Experience of working as an Agile Tester/QA Engineer and working as part of an Agile Delivery Team
  • Demonstrable experience in collaborating in design and User Story refinement, and determining and implementing Risk Based Test Approaches
  • Experience with the use of automation tools and frameworks within an Agile delivery environment – especially Selenium, JUnit and Cucumber, Java
  • Experience of testing applications developed on on JAVA, JSON, XML
  • Proficient in DB2/SQL
  • Knowledge of BDD, Gherkin
  • Experience of configuration management tools such as GIT
  • Strong critical thinking and analysis skills to determine the tests required for a solution, where it can be most efficiently tested and what key tests are suitable to be automated
  • Experience of JIRA

This is a contract position that falls inside of IR35
