Project Manager / Project Engineer

Our client in Aberdeen are looking to recruit a Project Manager / Project Engineer on an initial 12 month placement starting in January 2020 who will be responsible for managing and delivering a portfolio of projects within wastewater treatment sites throughout Aberdeen

The typical working week will be 37 – 40 hours per week ( Monday – Friday ) on a rate of £20 per hour PAYE plus holiday accrual

Key responsibilities of the role:

* Scope Management – Support OPS to develop business case and to deliver the project once project scope is agreed
* Design Management – Managing design consultants / contractors to develop the agreed solution into a design package and manage the estimate
* Budget Management – Understand and managing project cost / forecast along with being able to review contractor quotations and building up project estimate
* Risk Management – Be able to identify project risks (H&S and Financial) and proactively manage these risks from the concept stage to handover and project closure; effectively using manage actions to remove, mitigate or control risks in order to minimise the impacts to projects
* Planning – Use Microsoft Programme to create and maintain project plan and understand the critical activities of each project
* Procurement / Commercial Awareness – NEC3 or NEC4 experience, understanding different options and risks associated; effectively using NEC forms once contract is in place
* Construction Management – Managing contractors and ensure they are working safely and efficiently on site; problem solving any issues
* Handover – Managing project handover smoothly and ensuring project closed on time with output delivered

Required experience of the postholder:

* Project Management / Site Management experience
* Be highly competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Have effective communication skills both written and verbally
* Understand H&S requirement for each specific project and familiar with CDM2015
* Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering Knowledge
* Good Problem Solving Skills
* Wastewater Treatment knowledge
