Payroll Specialist

ASA are delighted to be working alongside an internationally reaching energy organisation based within Glasgow City Centre who are currently looking to bring a payroll specialist into their team. The role would be ideal for someone with at least two years of experience within a payroll environment who is keen to seek a new and challenging position. The successful candidate will be required to prepare payroll on both a weekly and monthly basis for a number of subsidiary companies so experience with multiple payrolls will be crucial.

The role:
– Preparing and processing payrolls for multiple subsidiary organisations
– Processing starters and leavers
– Processing employee absence records
– Dealing with auto enrolment and RTI
– Processing year end payroll requirements
– Assisting in the preparation of annual budget and payroll forecasting on a quarterly basis
– Processing PAYE and NI
– Handling any queries in relation to pay from a number of parties
– Processing payroll journals and assisting the finance team with month end journal processing and accounts reconciliations

The Ideal candidate:
– At least two years’ experience in a payroll specialist or payroll focused function
– Previous experience dealing with RTI and auto-enrolment
– A strong knowledge of PAYE, SSP, SMP, NIC
– A background in payroll systems
– The ability to solve problems in an analytical manner
– Great communication and interpersonal skills
– A resilient and positive approach to work

Additionally the position offers a choice in shift patters for a 35 hour week, with options of either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.
