Our West Lothian based client is actively searching for a locum Occupational Therapist for a reablement and care packages position in their Assessment and Prevention service team. Communicating with and visiting vulnerable adults in West Lothian’s community you will undertake reviews of individuals who have be offered a range of supportive services. You will work closely with them and their families or carers to gain an in-depth understanding of their present needs in relation to their eligibility for the variety of support that could available to them.

As an Occupational Therapist in West Lothian working within an Assessment and Prevention team, you will use your knowledge gained from the assessments of clients to create updated care and support plans. Furthermore, you will highlight additional appropriate support services in West Lothian which could be of assistance to them. For instance; through charitable organisations. In doing so you, will keep the promotion of independence as a priority.

You will acknowledge where the technology could be used to support vulnerable adults, focussing on the clients’ current strengths and how to maintain and boost these further.

In order to be considered for the role of Occupational Therapist in West Lothian, you must:

· Have a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy
· Have experience working in reablement
· Membership with the PVG Scheme and the willingness to undertake an update
· Have knowledge of Health & Safety, lone working & how it relates to working within clients’ homes
· A UK driver’s licence and access to a car
· Have genuine empathy and concern for vulnerable individuals and the passion to try and bring about positive change.
