Information Governance Policy Officer

ASA’s client is currently seeking an Information Governance Policy Officer to join a challenging new Programme. The successful postholder will join the Information Governance unit to enable the use personal information in the Programme while making sure to follow the law ad Ministerial commitments.

The organisation ensures that a ‘privacy by design’ approach is taken by the programme and that there is constant oversight of the data protection impact assessments, negotiating and establishing legislative gateways, and the drafting data sharing agreements.

The Programme is a high-profile and fast-paced area of work, which has political, public and media interest so the organisation are looking for an ambitious and adaptable individual with a passion for data protection and information governance.

Responsibilities include:

· Provide advice on policies concerning information governance and data protection and in delivering products
· Draft data sharing agreements with Scottish and UK public sector organisations
· Manage risks, interdependencies or actions assigned from project plans, such as the process for data protection impact assessment checkpoints
· Ensure information governance activity is managed and delivered for and with the Programme while working closely with team members and stakeholders
· Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an awareness of the Information Governance Unit and their work

Essential Skills:

· Experience of drafting DPIAs (Data Protection Impact Assessments)
· Knowledge of relevant data protection legislation
· Experience in working in a role that deals with data protection legislation or policy making and/or information governance
· Experience of working in a fast paced environment
· Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
