Are you an HR Advisor looking for a new challenge? Do you have strong administration skills, the ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail?

ASA are currently working with an established client in the public sector who are looking for an experienced HR Advisor

HR Advisor main duties:

  • Advise and support managers on a wide variety of employment matters which may include; guiding them through appropriate procedures e.g. sickness absence management, handling of disciplinary actions and grievances, including active involvement at formal stages.
  • Support managers through the recruitment and selection process ensuring best practice and consistency of approach is considered. Ensure managers recruit the required skills, in the correct way, in a timely manner and Scottish Canals values and corporate image is effectively promoted in a changing labour market.
  • Support employee relations activities such as liaising with Trade Union representatives on employment matters and attending team meetings, operations meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
  • HR Admin – payroll, pensions, MI reporting, occupational health referrals, training, HR inbox management, on boarding paperwork.

HR Advisor Requirements:

  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and manage conflicting demands in order to prioritise the workload.
  • You will be a clear and confident communicator adept in handling difficult conversations and advising a diverse range of stakeholders on all types of people issues.
  • Previous experience of dealing with Trade Unions and ER case management is preferable.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR experience at advisory level.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
