As a Housing Support Worker in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, you will work towards not only supporting vulnerable individuals to find accommodation but also and importantly, sanctuaries that they can call home.

Having a home, not only provides warmth, water and essential facilities but a pillar of support in the enablement of more optimistic future in Clackmannanshire. As an individual passionate about bringing about change for people at risk of, or currently, homeless, you will advocate this and have a good understanding about how a stable home can be the catalyst for sustained positive outcomes.

Working with people who are in danger of losing their home due to their mental and/or physical needs, those in housing support or people who are homeless will be a day-to-day occurrence. It is essential for the Housing Support Officer to have a good understanding of these circumstances and the detrimental impact that this can have on their clients’ lives without the structured support of a Housing Support Officer and wider service.

As a Housing Support Officer in Clackmannanshire you will provide guidance to your clients. This could be in support of them living independently, highlighting good housing options or you could also have responsibility to access services such as hostels or sheltered accommodation.

Your approachable nature, coupled with your ability to adapt your communications to suit the circumstances will aid your management of a diverse range of clients and make vital steps to identify any potential additional risk to these individuals.

The Housing Support Officer desired by our client in Alloa, Clackmannanshire will have the capacity to observe and assess complex situations to ensure a timely and appropriate response without the assistance of the Housing Support Co-ordinator. You will work under minimal supervision, working on your own caseload where you can prioritise well to ensure the efficiency of the service. The successful Housing Support Officer will have had experience of managing their own caseload, completing assessments of client needs and working in collaboration with other agencies/professionals.

To be considered for this role it is vital that you have:

· Membership with the PVG scheme and willingness to undertake an update
· Availability to begin in the role on one week’s notice
· A UK driver’s licence and access to your own car
· Prior experience working with vulnerable people at risk or currently homeless
· Experience of case management and assessments
