Are you qualified Financial Accountant with strong knowledge of local government accounting?

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a friendly team in East Lothian on a permanent basis.

As a key member of the wider Finance Team, your duties will include:

· Interpret and apply new financial accounting requirements within the financial accounts
· Act as the Finance representative at Departmental meetings
· Provide excellent financial advice and guidance
· Assist in the training and development of staff
· Develop timely and robust financial accounting forecasts

Essential requirements:

· Qualified accountant with membership of CCAB
· Experience of working within the public sector
· Knowledge of preparing and consolidating financial accounts and understanding key financial statements
· Ability to communicate complex or technical issues effectively
· Skilled user of IT packages and accounting systems
