Our Public sector client based in Aberdeen are sourcing for a Digital & Publications Manager for an initial 6 month contract with possible extension for an immediate start.

This is full time post for 37 hours a week (Monday to Friday) on a day rate, based on a salary of £30,652 per annum PAYE plus holiday accruals.

This position will be based from home for the foreseeable future until returning to the office.

Information about the Role:

Working as part of the Communications & Marketing team, this role will have responsibility for managing the organisation’s website and supporting on the development of publications. You will have strong time management, planning and collaborative skills.

The organisation’s website contains information, guidance and advice for consumers and businesses in Scotland. It is important that this is kept up to date with engaging and easy to understand content. This role will involve working with the wider organisation to update existing pages and when needed, create new pages or sections. You’ll also work closely with external suppliers on technical and functional updates to the website.

Specific Duties:

· Oversee the website, making sure it is kept up to date.
· Provide advice to colleagues across the business on the best way to update and display information on the website. This will include working with them to understand their requirements and recommend the best course of action. You will make sure content is accessible and engaging for users.
· Make sure content on the website is updated to reflect EU Exit. This will involve liaising with branches (departments) to manage the update process.
· Monitor Google Analytics to measure traffic to the website. Produce monthly digital reports and distribute these to Senior Management and Branch Heads.
· Work with and advise other branches on the development of publications, making sure they adhere to brand guidelines. This may include documents such as the Annual Report and Accounts, and research reports.
· Write comprehensive briefs for external suppliers, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated.
· Contribute to communications and marketing campaigns by providing support and advice on digital collateral.
· Make sure both publications and digital content is written in plain English and easy for audiences to understand.
· Build good working relationships across the wider Communications & Marketing team and the organisation, working collaboratively to support the delivery of the wider branch functions.

Essential Criteria:

* Experience working in a busy marketing or communications team (agency or in-house), preferably a digital marketing or digital communications role
* Experience using Expression Engine or another content management system to manage a website
* Experience using Google Analytics to measure and analyse website traffic
* Experience using Adobe design software
* Good understanding of the process of designing and publications process
* Worked with creative agencies from briefing through to completion of a project

The postholder will be expected to have/gain a current Basic Disclosure and be willing to undergo BPSS checking.
