Responding to the needs of children and their families with the aim to facilitate positive outcomes is a vital objective for the successful Children’s Social Worker sought in Aberdeen. Concentrating on timely interventions to safeguard children and formulating plans in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team will form the foundations for achieving positive results for at risk children. In addition, your excellent understanding of statutory guidelines and child protection policies will aid systematic assessments to gather a more holistic perception of situation(s) at hand which will provide you with the tools to decide upon the appropriate form of intervention. Your skills working with the above is reflected in the highly competitive rate of pay and a role that offers negotiable flexible home working.

In order to be considered for the role of Social Worker with Aberdeen’s Children and Families’ team is it essential that you have the following:

· BA in Social Work or equivalent for example. CQSW/DipSW
· Post degree experience working with vulnerable children and families
· PVG membership and willing to undertake an update
· SSSC registration
· Be able to begin work as soon as possible for a minimum of three months

It’s desirable for Aberdeen’s Children’s Services Social Worker to have a UK drivers’ licence and access to a car.

As a Social Worker working with vulnerable children and families, it is anticipated that you will have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt these to suit the nature of the situation and person group that you are in at all times.

You will show a commitment to Social Work principles and demonstrate these in your practice in order to ensure the deliver high quality of services to those in your care.
