ASA are recruiting for PVG chefs/cooks who have a passion for cooking and want to work daytime hours with no late evenings.

We are currently working with a number of Care Homes throughout Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire areas who require chefs, cooks and catering assistants with PVG disclosures. You will play a vital role, providing nutritious meals for vulnerable adults and children, as well as occasionally baking a sweet treat for the residents. You must have previous experience in a similar kitchen role, with the relevant food hygiene and allergen certificates.

Role Requirements – Essential

• Have good literacy and numeracy skills
• Be a good team player
• Ability to provide a regular and effective service
• Understanding of working in a catering environment
• Have good customer care, communication and organisational skills
• Ensure that COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to

Role Requirements – Desirable

• You must have a minimum of six months previous experience working within the catering industry in a similar role and within the UK
• Understanding of working in a catering environment
• Understanding dietary and nutritional needs
• Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate
• Manual Handling Awareness
• PVG membership required for Local Authority establishments -Cost to join the PVG scheme (£59) or update existing records (£18)
