Due to ASA Recruitment’s close collaboration with the public sector we are now looking for Catering Assistants to cover the large demand from Schools and Care Homes through all the Lothian Area.

With a pay rate starting from £7.97/hr during and flexible shifts which can help our Catering Assistants easily combine work and family life or to increase your permanent position income.

As you might know already, thanks to your previous experience as a Catering Assistant, for this position you will need to:

– be interested in catering and have a passion for food
– be a good team player
– have the capacity to work fast and efficiently even in an stressful environment
– have the ability to present acceptable standards of personal hygiene at all times
– show eagerness to learn every day

As a motivated Catering Assistant your main duties will be to:

– demonstrate a good knowledge of food and hygiene practices
– assist the chef with the meal preparation tasks, it may include chopping, peeling or washing food
– make sure appliances, surfaces, floors and walls are clean
– check that all the tools and food are clean and ready when the chef requires them
– help to serve meals to customers

All the Schools and Care Homes we work with require our candidates to have a PVG, which can be applied for at time of registration. This will boost your opportunities of work all around the Edinburgh Area.
