Support Worker – Children and Young Adults

ASA are currently recruiting for an exciting new Care and Support Worker role for our client in the AB12 area of Aberdeen. The position is within a residential home for young adults aged 18 to 33 with learning disabilities and additional or complex support needs.

In this role you can expect varied shifts with no two days being the same. You would work alongside the team of staff and international co-worker volunteers under the supervision of the House Coordinator while on shift. Some of the typical duties include but are not limited to;

• Supporting students within the residential home and accompanying them to the day service
• Supporting students with their personal care according to their personal support plans
• Assisting students to keep their home surroundings clean and tidy
• Performing basic housekeeping tasks where required
• Joining students at mealtimes and breaks, providing support where needed
• Becoming part of the community and joining in with house celebrations while supporting students

To be considered for this position you should have at least 2 years’ experience working with young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in residential care or care at home. You should be a PVG member and SSSC registered or be willing to obtain prior to employment. Own transport is preferred as the nearest bus stop is around 35 minutes’ walk from the site. You should be available for shift work between 0700 and 2100 Monday-Sunday, shift duration can vary and can be negotiable.
