Assistant Management Accountant

ASA are delighted to be working alongside a large building and engineering organisation looking to bring on an Assistant Management Accountant. The Glasgow based organisation are currently looking to add an experience, part qualified accounting professional to their establish finance team. This role would be ideal for a recent graduate with some exposure to dealing with or assisting in the preparation of Management Accounts. Candidates who are looking to or have started to study towards either ACCA or CIMA qualifications would be ideal for this opportunity.

The Assistant Management Accountant role will involve:
– Working alongside both the Management Accountant and Financial Controller, ensuring department targets are met in a timely manner
– Providing month end assistance with preparation of management accounts
– Preparing and posting month end journals in accordance with strict deadlines
– Posting and reconciling accruals & prepayments
– Reconciling balance sheet accounts
– Reconciling and controlling WIP Balance sheet accounts
– Providing assistance with VAT returns
– Assisting with the preparation of audit files and liaison with external auditors
– Liaising and working alongside key stakeholders throughout the business, from both finance and non-finance backgrounds

The candidate:
– Experience dealing with Management Accounts
– Currently studying or looking to study towards a professional accounting qualification
– Experience within a fast paced and challenging finance department
– A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
– Strong Microsoft Excel skills
– Excellent communication skills
– A high level of self-motivation
– A desire to progress and eventually reach qualified level
