Architectural Technologist

Description

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist for an immediate start in West Lothian (currently working from home where possible). As an Architectural Technologist, you will you will be responsible for carrying out measured building surveys, updating layout plans using AutoCAD LT 2020 and updating the document management system with revised plans. The contract is until 31st March 2021 with a possible 4 month extension.

Duties include:

§ To undertake site and building investigation and surveys, including dimensional surveys and asset management surveys
§ To prepare construction details, production information and building specifications (NBS and Outline Specifications) for projects as required
§ To assist in the administration of planned improvement and minor works contracts and monitoring of contract / project expenditure, including site inspection duties
§ To provide technical advice and liaise with other colleagues on construction matters relevant to ongoing projects
§ Produce information including drawings and specifications and building legislation compliance
§ Prepare detailed layout plans for existing properties

Essential:

§ HNC in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
§ Experience of using AutoCAD
§ Technical knowledge of construction techniques
§ Knowledge of building regulations
§ Knowledge of CDM regulations
§ Knowledge of planning legislation
