Building Standards Officer

ASA Recruitment are looking for a full time, Building Standards Officer on a temporary basis for our public sector client.

The successful candidate can be from a private or public sector background and will be responsible for assisting the Service Manager (Building Standards). This is a fully remote position so can be based anywhere in Scotland.

Responsibilities Include

• Processing of Building Warrant applications
• Assessment of plans, specifications and calculations
• Assessing work encompassing all building types and will vary from small domestic alterations and extensions to the erection of large, high risk and complex buildings such as hotels, care homes and schools.

Successful candidates for the role will require

• Must have extensive knowledge in the application of Scottish Building Regulations and Technical Guidance
• Qualification in a building related subject – level dependent on experience
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Analytical Approach
• Self Confident and Self Motivated
