Are you a dynamic Design Engineer looking for temporary position with an immediate start? Then we have the role for you!

Your new role

Preparation, tender and management of contracts and awarded works, whilst carrying out flood studies as necessary to develop and finalise potential flood protection schemes.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for:

• Undertaking activities relating to the implementation of the Flood Management Scotland Act 2009
• Review various flood event sites and liaising with maintenance and design staff
• Audit projects against their impact on watercourses as required
• Develop the increased utilisation of new technology where it is likely to improve effectiveness
• Ensure all design and construction works comply with all aspects of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation

What you’ll need to succeed

• HNC or equivalent in a related discipline and/or Membership of appropriate professional body
• Experience as an Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer, MICE or equivalent
• Experience in hydrology, hydraulics and drainage design, including the assessment of watercourses and their catchments
• Knowledge of statutory processes and consents required in the promotion of flood alleviation schemes
• Experience in flood risk assessment relating to planning applications
• Ability to travel to sites throughout Angus as and when required
