Building Surveyor

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor who is immediately available?

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to provide a comprehensive, cost effective professional Building Surveying service on a variety of major and minor building, civil engineering and maintenance contracts. Based in West Lothian, this contract is initially until the end of March 2019 but has the possibility of extending.

Main duties:
· The provision of Professional Building Surveying services on a variety of Building, Civil Engineering and Maintenance contracts for the organisation
· Carry out the full range of Building Surveying duties relating to repair, maintenance, improvement and the extension of the organisations’ property including building defect diagnosis, cost plans, project design development, project management/contract administration, preparation of tender documents, supervision of members of the design team and site supervision for a wide range of projects
· To prepare and assist in the preparation and issue of contract documents on a variety of building, civil engineering and maintenance projects to ensure compliance with performance targets and current procurement legislation
· Undertaking Condition Surveys, Dilapidation Surveys including negotiation of potential claims to completion, Property Utilisation Surveys and Building Acquisition Surveys

Essential skills and qualifications:

· Educated to degree level
· Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
· Knowledge and working experience of JCT SBCC Suite of Contracts
· Microsoft Office 2007 Excel and Word packages
· Conversant with a wide range of construction, property and contract legislation
· The ability to work with minimum of supervision
· Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
